Steelers WR Burress carted off field

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress was carted off the practice field Thursday with what appeared to be a shoulder or elbow injury.

He was attempting to catch a pass over a pair of defensive backs and came down hard on his arm. Burress was seen later with his right arm in a sling, according to The Observer-Report.

The 12-year veteran is competing for a roster spot in his second stint with the team.

Burress, 35, had three catches in four games with the Steelers last season. He has 553 career receptions for 8,499 yards and 64 touchdowns in 147 games.
