Steelers RB Mendenhall to start vs. Ravens

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said that running back Rashard Mendenhall will start Sunday night against the Baltimore Ravens, according to the team website.

Mendenhall has been out four games because of an Achilles injury.

Backups Jonathan Dwyer and Isaac Redman have been the primary ball carriers in Mendenhall's absence. Dwyer averaged 95 rushing yards in the last three games. Redman ran for 146 yards in the first game Mendenhall was out.

Pittsburgh will likely use all three and emphasize its running game more with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger out with a rib injury.

Byron Leftwich will start in Roethlisberger's place.
