Seafood puts Peterson in hospital briefly

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson encountered an unusual, albeit temporary, setback on Monday in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament when he had to be taken to the hospital for an apparent allergic reaction to seafood he ate.

Vikings officials called 911 when Peterson reacted to the seafood, and he was taken to the hospital.

But Peterson returned to the team Monday afternoon.

"Everything is back to normal now. Little bit of a scare, but he's fine," coach Leslier Frazier said, according to NFL.com.

The Vikings hope Peterson will be able to play sometime during the preseason.
