Rutgers assistant Brock named Delaware head coach
Rutgers offensive coordinator Dave Brock has been the named the new head coach at Delaware, an FCS school (formerly Division I-AA).
Delaware officials announced on Friday that Brock will replace K.C. Keeler, who was fired earlier this month after 11 seasons as the Blue Hens' head coach.
Keeler led Delaware to a national title in 2003 and two championship game appearances in 2007 and 2010. But Delaware won just 12 games the past two seasons combined.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Dave Brock to UD," said University of Delaware President Patrick T. Harker in a statement. "Dave has substantial coaching experience at some highly competitive schools and has nurtured an impressive roster of players. Just as importantly, Dave has a strong reputation for integrity and caring leadership. I think our student-athletes will thrive with him as their coach and mentor. And I know Dave will benefit from working with such a talented and committed group of young men."
Brock becomes the fourth offensive coordinator to leave Rutgers since 2008.
