Super Bowl 50 on Yahoo Sports:

Rockies' Tulowitzki, Fowler come off DL

The SportsXchange

Two mainstays returned to the starting lineup for the Colorado Rockies in their series opener in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and center fielder Dexter Fowler both came off the disabled list before the game. Fowler batted leadoff and Tulowitzki was the cleanup man against the Dodgers.

Tulowitzki had been out since June 14 with a fractured rib on his right side. Fowler missed the minimum 15 days due to a bone bruise in his right hand.

Both of them made rehab appearances for Triple-A Colorado Springs this week. Tulowitzki went 4-for-5 with a walk in two rehab games, while Fowler went 0-for-6 with three walks in two games.

During Tulowitzki's absence, Colorado went 9-16. The team went 5-9 while both Tulowitzki and Fowler were sidelined.

To clear room on the roster for the two returning players, the Rockies optioned outfielders Tyler Colvin Corey Dickerson to Colorado Springs. In 27 games with the Rockies, Colvin batted .160 with three homers and 10 RBIs. Dickerson hit .212 (7-for-33) with no homers and two RBIs in 15 games with Colorado.
