Rockets G Harden has knee bruise

Houston Rockets guard James Harden is day-to-day with a right knee bruise.

Harden was injured during Friday night's preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies when he was fouled by Quincy Pondexter of the Grizzlies as he hit a 3-pointer.

He was slow to get up after bumping knees with Pondexter with 4:35 left in the first quarter but made the free throw and headed to the locker room during the next play stoppage. He did not return. He had six points and four rebounds in less than 8 minutes. The Rockets won 92-73.

Harden leads the Rockets with 20.8 points per game in the preseason.
