Report: Pettitte going on DL

New York Yankees left-hander Andy Pettitte is headed to the 15-day disabled list with a strained left trapezious muscle, according to multiple reports Friday.

The 40-year-old veteran left Thursday night's game against the Seattle Mariners after 4 2/3 innings. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said Pettitte was feeling OK on Friday, and Pettitte indicated that he should be able to return to the mound after his 15-day stay on the DL.

To take his place on the roster, the Yankees recalled pitcher Vidal Nuno from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Pettitte has a 4-3 record with a 3.83 ERA in 49 1/3 innings this season.
