Report: Dodgers agree to re-sign P Howell

The Los Angeles Dodgers reached an agreement to re-sign left-handed pitcher J.P. Howell to a two-year, $11.5 million contract, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Along with the $11.5 million in guaranteed money is a $6.25 million vesting option for 2016.

The deal is expected to be announced Thursday after Howell passes his physical.

Howell, 30, became a free agent after spending the 2013 season with the Dodgers. He was 4-1 with a 2.03 ERA this past season, and left-handed batters hit just .164 against him.
