Redskins TE Fred Davis suspended indefinitely

Redskins tight end Fred Davis has been suspended indefinitely following a violation of the league's substance-abuse policy, the NFL announced on Wednesday.

CBSSports.com previously reported that Davis' suspension would be six games in January, though the NFL did not make an announcement at that time.

Though Davis is technically still with the Redskins, he's set to become a free agent this March. At that point, it's unlikely he remains with the franchise.

Seldom used in 2013, Davis finished the year with seven catches for 70 yards.
