Redskins sign LB Tapp

Linebacker Darryl Tapp signed with the Washington Redskins. Terms were not disclosed.

Tapp is a seven-year veteran with 24 sacks, 18 passes defensed, nine forced fumbles, eight fumbles recoveries and a pair of interceptions in 103 career games.

Originally a second-round pick by the Seattle Seahawks in 2006, Tapp was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2010 in exchange for defensive end Chris Clemons. Primarily a defensive end for the Eagles, Tapp was credited with 34 tackles (15 solo) in 13 games last season.

Tapp, 28, played for Virginia Tech, where he was teammates with current Redskins wide receiver Josh Morgan and center Will Montgomery.
