Redskins lineman says umpire cursed him out

Washington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams said he got an earful from an on-field official Sunday, and he expressed his displeasure after his team's 24-16 loss to the Eagles in Philadelphia.

According to Williams, umpire Roy Ellison called him a "garbage-ass, disrespectful (bleep)." Other Redskins players backed Williams' account.

"To me, this is a player's league," Williams said. "I just don't think there's no room for that, for you (to) have to take that from the (opposing) team and the refs. I think it's very unprofessional. It sucks. I'm at a loss for words. You never expect that, as a player going into the game, to have to beef with the refs also."

"If you rewind the play, you can see him walk by and say something. And you see me like, 'What was that?' It was ... No. 81 (Ellison)."

Williams said he did not know why Ellison cursed at him.

Washington guard Kory Lichtensteiger said, "I've never heard anything like that before in my life. I don't know what it was, but that guy came out with some kind of vendetta. I don't have a lot else to say, but I heard that comment."

A pool reporter was unsuccessful in an attempt to get a response from referee Walt Coleman.
