Reds' Baker released from hospital, may return Tuesday
Cincinnati Reds manager Dusty Baker was released from a Chicago hospital on Sunday following four days of treatment for an irregular heartbeat, MLB.com reported.
He may be back with the team on Tuesday, but that is not certain.
Baker, 63, returned to Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon, and spoke with Reds players in the Cincinnati clubhouse after batting practice.
He did not stay at the ballpark for Sunday's game against the Dodgers, however, and went home instead.
"Hopefully with the day off [Monday] and him getting a good relaxing night tonight at home, he can come back on Tuesday and see how he feels. It's great news," bench coach and acting manager Chris Speier said, according to MLB.com.
Sunday's game was the fifth in row in which the Reds played with Speier as their acting manager in Baker's absence.
The Reds clinched the National League Central title on Saturday.
