Rangers activate Berkman, Feliz

The Texas Rangers activated first baseman Lance Berkman and pitcher Neftali Feliz from the disabled list on Sunday, according to Foxsports.com, as the Rangers make moves on the first day rosters can be expanded.

Berkman, 37, has been sidelined since the first week of July with hip and knee problems and probably won't get much playing time for a while.

He's batting .254 with six homers in 68 games this season. Berkman has been considering retiring.

Feliz, 25, is recovering from Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery and has not pitched in the major league since May 2012.

He probably will be used in relief for the rest of this season, but he might be able to work his way back into the starting rotation next season.
