Press Box: Abdominal strain sidelines Nets' Humprhies
Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries will miss the next two games with an abdominal strain, coach Avery Johnson told reporters Tuesday.
Humphries missed Tuesday's loss to the Boston Celtics, and he will skip Wednesday's trip to Milwaukee for a game against the Bucks. Johnson said Humphries would be re-evaluated when the Nets return home.
Humphries, 27, has started 20 of the 25 games he's appeared in this season, posting averages of 7.1 points and 7.4 rebounds.

Former major league outfielder Andruw Jones was arrested early Christmas morning and charged with battery outside of Atlanta, according to a Capitol Avenue Club report.
Jones, 35, was arrested by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department shortly before 4 a.m. ET, though the reasons weren't known.
A 17-year veteran, Jones spent the first 12 years of his career with the Atlanta Braves. He won 10 Gold Gloves and made five All-Star appearances.
After playing in 2011-12 with the New York Yankees as a backup outfielder, he signed earlier this month with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles of Japan's Pacific League.

--Central Michigan will be without three wide receivers for its Little Caesar's Pizza Bowl matchup Wednesday against Western Kentucky at Ford Field in Detroit.
The university announced that Titus Davis, Defarrel Davis and Courtney Williams were suspended Monday for a violation of team policy.
Titus Davis leads the team in receiving yards with 860 and in touchdown catches with eight. Williams is the Chippewas' third leading receiver with 24 catches for 260 yards and two touchdowns.
--The Virginia Tech football team will wear a helmet decal to honor the victims of the school shooting in Newtown, Conn., for their upcoming bowl game.
Virginia Tech was the site of the deadliest school shooting in the United States, when a gunman killed 32 people and wounded 17 others on April 16, 2007. The Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in which 20 children and six faculty members died, was the second deadliest.
To remember those lost in both tragedies, the Hokies' helmets will be adorned with a large orange-and-green ribbon, the word "Prevail" and the number 58 for the total number of victims.
