Penguins' Dupuis may be out for season

Pittsburgh Penguins forward Pascal Dupuis will require surgery to repair damage to his anterior-cruciate ligament and may be sidelined the rest of the season, the team announced Friday.

Dupuis suffered his knee injury several days ago in a collision with teammate Sidney Crosby during a loss to Ottawa.

The Penguins offered no timetable for Dupuis' possible return.

Dupuis, 34, has seven goals and 13 assists in 39 games this season.

He agreed to a four-year, $15 million contract extension with the Penguins during the offseason.

Dupuis is one of several Penguins players who are sidelined with injuries. Other Pittsburgh players currently on the injured list include Bean Bennett, Andrew Ebbett, Kris Letang,Paul Martin, Jayson Megna, Rob Scuderi and Tomas Vokoun.
