Patriots LB Spikes fined $25,000

New England Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes was fined $25,000 for his hit on Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick last Sunday, according to ESPN.com.

Spikes was penalized on the play, which occured in the fourth quarter of the Patriots' 37-31 victory. Spikes' hit knocked Fitzpatrick's helmet off.

Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard was docked $7,875 for unnecessary roughness on a late, out-of-bounds hit on Fitzpatrick in the second quarter. Also, New England linebacker Jerod Mayo was fined $10,000 for tackling Bills running back C.J. Spiller out of bounds.
