Pacers sign Howard, Jackson

The Indiana Pacers announced the signing of free agents Ron Howard and Darnell Jackson on Tuesday.

Howard spent the 2012-13 season with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League, where he made the 2013 NBA D-League All-Star Game. The swingman averaged 19.1 points, 4.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds a year ago, but has never played in the NBA.

Jackson, a former second-round pick of the Miami Heat, played for the Reno Bighorns of the D-League last year. The forward has played with Cleveland, Milwaukee and Sacramento in the NBA, averaging 2.2 points and 1.5 rebounds in 138 career games.

Terms of the deals were not disclosed. Both players will attend the Pacers training camp. The team's first preseason game will be Oct. 5 against Chicago.
