Oklahoma DT McGee suspended for bowl game

Oklahoma defensive tackle Stacy McGee has been suspended for the Cotton Bowl game against Texas A&M, but wide receiver Jalen Saunders has been cleared to participate in the game, Oklahoma announced Friday.

Saunders, a transfer from Fresno State, played in the final eight games of the regular season, and his 53 catches and 766 receiving yards led the team over that eight-game stretch. He was one of two Sooner players arrested on marijuana possession charges in December.

McGee was suspended for the first six games this season for a violation of team rules and was arrested and charged in December with driving under the influence. He started 17 games over the previous three seasons, but had not made any starts this year.
