Notre Dame 101, Cornell 67

All five Notre Dame starters scored in double figures as the Irish routed Cornell 101-67 on Sunday afternoon at Purcell Pavilion.

Cornell jumped to an 8-0 lead but the Fighting Irish quickly buried the visitors with a 22-4 run sparked by a pair of 3-pointers by guard/forward Pat Connaughton and never let up.

Guard Jerian Grant led the Irish with 20 points, guard Eric Atkins had 19 points, six boards and six assists and Connaughton scored 18 on 7-of-13 shooting.

Grant was 8 of 10 from the field and made both of his free throws.

The Irish turned the ball over a season-low five times and improved to 5-1 with a rebounding advantage of 43-27.

Cornell is 0-9 on the season. The team's three-guard lineup of Devin Cherry, Nolan Cressler and Robert Hatter combined for 39 points, including 4-of-11 shooting from 3-point range.

Notre Dame goes on the road for the first time this season Tuesday against No. 23 Iowa at Iowa City.
