NHL Three Stars: Bobrovsky blanks Wild; Islanders down Stars

No. 1 Star: Sergei Bobrovksy, Columbus Blue Jackets

The goaltender stopped all 38 Minnesota Wild shots on goal in a 1-0 win. The victory was Bobrovsky’s 33rd of the season, which matched a career-high. It also tied Steve Mason for most in a single season by a Blue Jackets goaltender. Bobrovksy now has a 2.13 goal-against average and .928 save percentage to go along with four shutouts. The Blue Jackets have won three of their last four games and five of seven.

No. 2 Star: Ryan Strome, New York Islanders

Strome scored a goal and added two assists in a 5-4 win over the Dallas Stars. It was his second three-point game in last eight contests. With the victory the Islanders tied the Toronto Maple Leafs for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. Both teams have 70 points with the Islanders having played one more game than Toronto.

No. 3 Star: Jack Eichel, Buffalo Sabres

Eichel scored a goal and added two assists in a 6-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes to help his team break a four-game losing streak. Eichel now has picked up a point in eight straight games and in that stretch he has scored two goals and added nine assists. The second-year forward has 40 points in 43 games and leads the Sabres with 0.93 points per-game.
