NBA Roundup: Hawk assign No. 1 pick Schroder to D-League

The Atlanta Hawks assigned guard Dennis Schroder to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, the team announced Wednesday.

Schroder, Atlanta's first round pick in this year's draft, is averaging 3.7 points, 2.5 assists and 1.1 rebounds in 13.9 minutes in 11 games this season. He ranks tied for fourth among all NBA rookies in assists and tied for 16th in scoring.

---The San Antonio Spurs signed forward Malcolm Thomas off the NBA D-League's Los Angeles D-Fenders.

Thomas averaged 33.5 points and 15.5 rebounds in two games for the Defenders this season. Thomas has played in 15 career NBA games.

Thomas left San Diego State as the program's second ranked all-time shot blocker with 127. He averaged 11.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.0 blocks his senior season in 2010-11.

---The Chicago Bulls recalled guard Marquis Teague from the Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League. Teague has averaged 1.2 points and 0.8 assists in 8.9 minutes over nine games with the Bulls this season.
