Nationals sign Haren
Free-agent Dan Haren has signed a one-year, $13-million deal with the Washington Nationals, according to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal.
This deal is pending a physical.
The righty became a free agent when the Los Angeles Angels declined a $15.5-million option. Days earlier, a trade that would've sent him to the Chicago Cubs fell through when the Cubs were concerned about his medical reports.
Haren, 32, posted the worst full-season ERA of his career in 2012, at 4.33. The Nationals won't lose a draft pick to sign Haren, since the Angels didn't make a qualifying offer.
