Multitalented Peppers picks Michigan
Jabrill Peppers, the nation's No. 3 recruit, and the top cornerback coming out of high school, committed to playing for Michigan on Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Peppers becomes the highest-rated player to choose the Wolverines in a decade.
He picked the Maize and Blue over LSU, Ohio State, Penn State and Stanford. And he knew he would be playing for coach Brady Hoke after visiting Ann Arbor for the first time on April 3.
"I felt it after the visit," Peppers told 247Sports on Saturday through a statement given to the network from his head coach Chris Partridge. "I grew up a Michigan fan and the opportunity to play for the program was one I couldn't pass up. The direction of the program, we're going to be competing for and winning national championships."
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Peppers is the highest-rated player to pick Michigan since Demar Dorsey, then the No. 2 safety and No. 12 prospect in the nation, selected the Wolverines on signing day in 2010, according to ESPN. Quarterback Ryan Mallett, the No. 2 quarterback and No. 12 overall prospect in the 2007 class, also chose Michigan.
Last fall, Peppers registered 77 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble on defense while adding 1,552 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns on offense. He also had five receiving scores.
While excelling on the field, Peppers has made a name for himself off of it as well.
Peppers sports a 3.9 GPA and is wants to be an orthopedic surgeon. He also is one of the fastest sprinters in the nation.
Besides his prowess in the classroom and in sports, Peppers has found time to release a music video.
