INJURY UPDATES

Angels: Matt Shoemaker has a mild oblique injury and will miss his next start. Also, after missing 10 games, Josh Hamilton returned to the lineup Tuesday while Albert Pujols was in the lineup a day after it looked like he suffered a hamstring injury.

Astros: Rookie phenom George Springer has been shut down for the season (Ultimate Astros). Also, Brad Peacock will rejoin the rotation Friday (Ultimate Astros).

Cubs: Arismendy Alcantara has a slight wrist issue and Anthony Rizzo isn't playing every game as the Cubs ease him back from his back injury (cubs.com).

Mets: Juan Lagares had to leave Tuesday game with a hyperextended elbow (mets.com).

Nationals: Ryan Zimmerman went through a simulated game and it sounds like things went well (nationals.com).

Padres: Yonder Alonso says his rehab is going well and hopes he's part of the Padres' future plans (utsandiego.com).

Rangers: Shin-Soo Choo already had elbow surgery and now he needs surgery on his ankle (texasrangers.com).

Reds: Joey Votto took batting practice Tuesday, but there's still no word on whether or not he'll return this year (reds.com).
