82 percent of teams in the AFC are currently 3-4 or better right now. This includes our beloved Miami Dolphins (3-4). Teams not above that threshold include Jacksonville (2-5), the rival New York Jets (2-5) and the last place team in the NFL, the Cleveland Browns (0-7).

Everybody else is in the middle of the pack in the race for the playoffs out of the AFC. Nine of those teams as mentioned in the above 82 percent statement are currently sitting at 3-4 or 4-3. In reality, a team will almost certainly have to be 10-6 to have a certain shot at making the playoffs. Even that may be pushing it if history has taught us anything.

For the Miami Dolphins to even consider making the playoffs this season, we must win against the rival New York Jets this Sunday. Also on the lists of musts will be wins over the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers. Lose any of these games and our Playoff chances are all but extinct.

The Dolphins just need to focus on one game at a time right now. Nevertheless, as fans, the next four upcoming games will almost certainly determine the outcome and result of this season. This stretch occupies the three must win games and one other game against the San Diego Chargers. The sardonic, surfeited Dolphins fan in me makes me aware that the stiletto usually penetrates us in inexplicable ways.

How do you see this playing out? Can we make a probable Playoff push, or are the Miami Dolphins cursed to yet again fail and not to make the Playoffs? So far the Miami Dolphins have been playing well, but how long will that last?

For years we fans have been screaming at our TV and at the games for the Phins to run the ball and it looks like they’re finally listening. Who knows how long this win streak can last but so far head coach Adam Gase has found a formula to make the Dolphins relevant and to be honest, if this keeps up the Dolphins can very well be the dark horse that somehow makes a wild card berth.
