Lots of Power Play scoring

The Anaheim Ducks continue to be a huge force on the power play. Read more in The Power Play Report

I know it’s early but 17 teams are scoring at a rate of at least 20 percent on the power play, including eight teams at 25 percent or higher. The Penguins are firing on all cylinders with a 40 percent success rate.

Last season, only three teams ended up at 20 percent or higher with the Penguins and Capitals leading the way at 23.4 percent.

On the other side of the coin, the Minnesota Wild and Buffalo Sabres have yet to score this season and the worst team last year was Florida at 10 percent.

The Wild have had 20 chances with the Sabres playing with the man-advantage 30 times. They both have 40 shots on goal on the power play. Look for Minnesota to be greatly improved but expect the Sabres to stay at or near the bottom all season.
