Lions' Burleson done for year with broken leg

Lions receiver Nate Burleson will miss the rest of the season after breaking his right leg Monday night in Detroit's 13-7 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Burleson, 31, was hurt in the third quarter when he was tackled after making his only catch of the night for 16 yards.

A 10th-year pro out of Nevada-Reno, Burleson finishes the year with 27 catches for 240 yards and two touchdowns. He also had eight carries for 48 yards.

Burleson was in his third season with the Lions. He played from 2003-05 with the Minnesota Vikings, who drafted him in the third round in 2003, and he spent 2006-09 with the Seattle Seahawks. His only 1,000-yard receiving season came in 2004, when he caught 68 passes for 1,006 yards.

Last year, Burleson had a career-high 73 receptions, which netted 757 yards.
