Leafs' Lupul to miss time with injury

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul was placed on injured reserve Thursday with a Grade 2 groin strain.

Lupul was hurt during the Maple Leafs' 6-0 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday night. He sat out Wednesday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The 30-year-old Lupul has eight goals, 15 points and 18 penalty minutes in 22 games this season. He also missed two games earlier in the season with a foot injury and was sidelined last season with a broken forearm and a concussion.

There was no indication when Lupul might return to the ice.
