Last year's Groza Award winner headlines 2013 watch list

The 37 kickers on the 2013 watch list for the annual Lou Groza Award released Wednesday includes 2012 winner Cairo Santos of Tulane and four other semifinalists.

The Groza award, which honors Hall of Famer Lou Groza, goes to the top kicker in college football. Last year, that was Santos, who did not miss a field goal attempt all season. The other returning semifinalists from a year ago are San Jose State's Austin Lopez, Rice's Chris Boswell, Duke's Ross Martin and TCU's Jaden Oberkrom.

The Palm Beach County Sports Commission will pare the list to 20 semifinalists in November and the winner will be announced after the season.

The 2013 watch list also includes Kyle Brindza of Notre Dame, Jeff Budzien of Northwestern, Chandler Catanzaro of Clemson, Brian Davis of Arkansas State, Jeremiah Detmer of Toledo,
