Kris Benson's estranged wife jailed on felony charges

Anna Benson, estranged wife of former major league pitcher Kris Benson, was arrested Monday in Georgia on three felony charges and one misdemeanor charge and is being held without bond after reportedly breaking into the home the two once shared and demanding money, according to the Cobb County Sherriff's Office.

Benson faces two charges of aggravated assault and one charge of possessing a firearm or knife while attempting to commit a felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass.

According to multiple reports, the former exotic dancer and star of the VH-1 "Baseball Wives" reality TV series demanded $30,000 and brandished a handgun and knife, as well as other weapons, while wearing a bulletproof vest.

Kris and Anna Benson were married in 1999. The former No. 1 pick in the major league draft reportedly filed for divorce in 2012. He played nine years in the majors, five of them with the Pittsburgh Pirates, last pitching in the big leagues in 2010 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
