Kiel transferring to Cincinnati

Perhaps the fourth school will be the charm for golden-armed quarterback Gunner Kiel.

Kiel plans to transfer from Notre Dame to Cincinnati according to multiple reports. As per NCAA transfer rules, Kiel would sit out the 2013 season and have three years eligibility remaining.

It will be the fourth time Kiel commits to a program, after initially the Indiana Mr. Football committed to Indiana, switched to LSU and later backed out of that plan to sign at Notre Dame.

Many recruiting analysts pegged Kiel, a 6-4, 215-pound pro-style passer, as the top quarterback in the 2011 recruiting class.

Kiel didn't play last season as the backup to Notre Dame starter Everett Golson.
