Jets sign WR Gilyard

The New York Jets signed wide receiver Mardy Gilyard to the active roster and wide receiver Eddie McGee and offensive tackle Dennis Landolt to the practice squad.

Gilyard, a 2010 fourth-round draft pick of St. Louis, caught six passes for 63 yards for the Rams before he was waived after the 2011 season. He played in six games for Philadelphia this season before being waived. Gilyard has returned 16 kicks for an average of 22.3 yards and two punts for a 7.5-yard average in his career.

McGee spent last season on Oakland's practice squad but was waived by the Raiders during the preseason this year. Landolt has spent time on the practice squads of the New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Jets and New Orleans Saints.
