Jets sign kicker, punter

The New York Jets signed free-agent kicker Derek Dimke and punter Ryan Quigley, the team announced Friday.

Dimke, an undrafted free agent out of Illinois, was waived by the Detroit Lions last August after going 2 of 2 on field goal attempts in three preseason games. He is the Fighting Illini's career leader in field-goal accuracy, making 39 of 46 kicks while in college.

Quigley made the Chicago Bears' roster after the 2012 preseason as an undrafted free agent from Boston College but was inactive for the regular-season opener and then waived. He averaged 41.4 yards per punt in four preseason games.
