Jacksonville Jaguars football finally starts up this Sunday, and they have a big challenge ahead of them right off the bat.

The Green Bay Packers have consistently been one of the best teams in the NFL for many years. They’ve made the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons, getting ten or more wins in six of those years. Head coach Mike McCarthy is one of the best coaches in the game today, and his team’s successes back that up.

Led by Aaron Rodgers, their offense is one of the best in the league. With a returning Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb in his arsenal, Rodgers has some very talented weapons to throw to. He also has running back Eddie Lacy, who has been taking P90X in an attempt to lose weight. If he can regain his 2014 form, Green Bay will be scary. They did recently cut Pro Bowl guard Josh Sitton, which will weaken their offensive line. However, they still have a very talented offensive line which will be tough to get past.

Defensively though, the Packers are very average. They have a dedefensive line, but losing nose tackle B.J. Raji to retirement will definitely hurt. They have a great duo off the edge in Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers. The Jaguars’ offensive tackles will have to step up to save Blake Bortles from their pass rush. Green Bay’s inside linebackers leave a lot to be desired. Starting Jake Ryan and fourth-rounder Blake Martinez, that position is a clear weakness on their defense. While their secondary doesn’t boast any big names, it is one of the best in the NFL. In fact, the Packers were the league’s sixth-best pass defense last year. They did lose Casey Heyward in free agency, but they should still have a top ten pass defense.

Well-coached and talented, the Packers enter this game as the odds-on favorites to win. The Jaguars will need to bring their A-game if they plan on winning this game.
