Shanahan: RG3 '98 percent' to play vs. Eagles
Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was listed a probable on the team's injury report Friday, and coach Mike Shanahan expects the rookie will be cleared to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"There is a very, very good chance he is going to play," Shanahan said. "There doesn't look like there are any setbacks with him but if something crazy happens, obviously, we will know before the game but talking to him after practice - he's fine."
Shanahan said Griffin looked good in practice but had not received medical clearance. He expected that to come Friday night.
"(I will) probably find out later on today but if I put him as probable, it's 98 percent, so it's pretty good," Shanahan said. "I know I'm not a doctor but he took all the reps today."
Griffin suffered a sprained knee two weeks ago in an overtime win over Baltimore and sat out last Sunday's game against Cleveland. He returned to practice this week and took every rep Friday.
Rookie Kirk Cousins led the Redskins to a win against the Browns and would start again if Griffin is unable to play.
Linebacker London Fletcher (ankle) also was listed as probable for Sunday.
Offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus was listed as questionable with a head injury.
