Gabbert expected to start for Jaguars this week

It remains to be seen if Monday's announcement by Jacksonville Jaguars coach Gus Bradley is good news or not.

But the news is that Blaine Gabbert will be back at quarterback this week when the Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts. Gabbert was dreadful in the Jags' opener, a 28-2 loss to Kansas City, but suffered a cut on his hand that required 15 stitches and cost him the next two games.

In his place, Chad Henne started the next two games and fared only slightly better as Jacksonville enters the game at 0-3.

But the Jaguars have to find out once and for all if Gabbert, the 10th pick overall in 2011, can become an adequate NFL quarterback, or they will likely be spending one of the top overall picks in the 2014 draft on a quarterback.
