Fields to replace Shumpert in Knicks' starting lineup

Landry Fields will replace Iman Shumpert in the New York Knicks' lineup on Monday night, as the team looks to rebound from a 33-point loss in the first game of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series with the Miami Heat.

Shumpert, a 21-year-old rookie out of Georgia Tech, tore an ACL and lateral meniscus in his left knee on Saturday. The injury occurred midway through the third quarter, after Shumpert had played 19 minutes for the eighth-seed Knicks. He finished the game with no points, a rebound and a steal, after averaging 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists and a team-best 1.7 steals per game in 59 regular-season appearances.

Fields, in his second season with the team, averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals during the regular season, playing in all 66 games for the Knicks. He had eight points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor on Saturday, along with two rebounds and an assist in 18 minutes of action.

The Knicks face the Heat in the second game of their best-of-seven series at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday night at American Airlines Arena.
