Donald Trump didn't think Patriots were a good investment?

Valued at $2.6 billion by Forbes recently, the New England Patriots clock in as the second most valuable NFL franchise, and the sixth most valuable team in all of sports. Current owner Robert Kraft paid $172 million for the team in 1994, paving the way for a storied dynasty and an astonishing return on investment.

One fellow billionaire who didn't think the Pats offered much in the way of ROI: the Donald.

According to a recent report, the Boston Globe suggests that Donald Trump seriously considered buying the Patriots in 1988 from then owner Billy Sullivan for approximately $85 million. However, sources claim that Trump and his advisors weighed the debt the team and its stadium were carrying at the time ($104 million) and decided against the transaction.

We trust that the one-time Apprentice posterboy and current GOP hopeful has "fired" everyone responsible for passing on such a prized investment.
