Diamondbacks 11, Rockies 1

PHOENIX -- Paul Goldschmidt, Martin Prado and Miguel Montero homered and Cody Ross had a career-high five hits to help Wade Miley to his first victory in a month as the Arizona Diamondbacks topped the Colorado Rockies 11-1 on Saturday night.

Goldschmidt ht his career-high 21st homer and extended his National League RBI lead to 73 with a two-run shot in the fifth inning. Prado hit a two-run homer in the seventh and Montero added a three-run blast in the eighth.

Miley gave up one run and five hits in eight innings, his longest outing of the year, as the Diamondbacks (46-41) won their fourth straight game and extended their NL West to lead to 4 1/2 games.

Miley (5-7) had not won in five starts since June 5, although his ERA during that span was 2.76.

Ross had a double and four singles and scored three runs.

Carlos Gonzalez, like Goldschmidt named to the NL All-Star team on Saturday, hit his league-leading 24th home run in the seventh inning to end Miley's career-high streak of 13 consecutive scoreless innings.

Gonzalez had four of Colorado's six hits as the Rockies (42-46) lost for the fifth time in the past six games.

Michael Cuddyer, also named to the NL All-Star team, doubled off Miley in the seventh inning. He has hit safely in 31 of his last 32 games and is second in the NL with a .341 batting average.

Miley gave himself a 3-0 cushion with a bases-loaded double in the second inning after Ross doubled with one out and Gerardo Parra and Didi Gregorius drew two-out walks. Miley has a home run and five RBIs this season.

Goldschmidt made it 5-0 with his 21st homer after Aaron Hill walked to open the third off Colorado starter Drew Pomeranz, who gave up five hits and five walks in four innings during his second start of the season.

Ross singled to open the fifth, took second on Manny Corpas' balk and scored on Parra's double to center. Parra has 26 doubles, tied for third in the NL.

Gonzalez's home run leading off the seventh broke up Miley's shutout and was the first Colorado runner past first base. Miley gave up three singles and a walk in the first six innings, and two were erased on double-play grounders.
