The Devils You Say!

In Sunday's Dose, Stamkos gets 300, Jagr nets 742, while Quick stifles Preds and Marchand leads Bruins' onslaught

The New Jersey Devils had the 21st best power play in the NHL last season and was assumed that they would not be nearly as good this season as Ilya Kovalchuk, possibly the top power play player in the NHL and certainly the one who averaged the most ice time with the man-advantage, quit and went back to the KHL.

But the Devils added Jaromir Jagr in the off-season and promoted an offensive defenseman from the minors in Eric Gelinas and of a sudden they have scored on 39 of 189 opportunities which is ninth best in the NHL after going 28 for 176 in 2012-13.

Quite a difference.
