Connor McDavid scores wicked goal in NHL All-Star Game (Video)

LOS ANGELES – The NHL got what it wanted in the final game of its 3-on-3 all-star tournament, with Sidney Crosby and the Metro Division against Connor McDavid and the Pacific Division, the NHL’s top scoring leaders.

It was the Edmonton Oilers’ young star who stole the spotlight with this sick goal in the first period of the game:

McDavid had cut in on a scoring attempt moments earlier, but shot the puck wide of Sergei Bobrovsky. He didn’t miss on his second chance.

Credit where it’s due: That was a great pass from Ryan Kesler to spring McDavid. But then McDavid did the rest, dangling around that poke-check attempt from the Columbus Blue Jackets’ goalie to tuck the puck home and bring Staples Center to life.

McDavid had an impressive NHL All-Star Weekend, as he took the Fastest Skater competition on Saturday night and would have set an all-time record had he been given the running start that Dylan Larkin had.
