Colts sign RB Choice

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they signed running back Tashard Choice, who was waived by the Buffalo Bills last week.

Choice had 126 yards on 35 rushes this year for Buffalo. He rushed for 471 on 3.4 yards per carry with two touchdowns in two-plus seasons with the Bills. The sixth-year veteran also caught 27 passes and contributed on special teams since joining them in November 2011.

Choice was a fourth-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. For his career, Choice has 261 carries for 1,535 yards (4.3 yards per carry) with 10 touchdowns and 80 catches for 569 yards.

The team made the move after Indianapolis placed running back Chris Rainey on injured reserve.

Indianapolis has also been without running backs Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard for much of this season because of injuries.

Trent Richardson has been a disappointment for the Colts since they traded a first-round pick to the Cleveland Browns earlier this season to acquire him.

Quarterback Andrew Luck led the team in rushing in Sunday's 42-28 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with 32 yards on two rushes. Richardson had six carries for 20 yards and Donald Brown had four carries for 11 yards.
