Colts get some love…finally

Andrew Luck
Andrew Luck

Just two years ago the Indianapolis Colts have one of the most high-powered offenses in the NFL. Andrew Luck lead the league in touchdown passes with 40, and he helped lead them to the AFC Championship. Then last year happened.

Luck was sidlined with several injuries that saw him miss nine games, and the Colts stumbled to an 8-8 finish. Just one game out of the AFC South crown. Remember they played five quarterbacks, included two who were basically signed off the street.

So naturally with a healthy Luck, and still players like T.Y. Hilton, Donte Moncrief, Dwayne Allen surrounding him you would think they would be favorites to get back into the playoffs right? Wrong.

Most “media” member elected the Colts to finish second or even third, yes third, in the dismal South. Granted the Jaguars and Texans become a little better on paper. But that is on paper. Remember the Colts were deemed “Super Bowl” contenders last year before the season after signing several veterans in free agency.

Until the game is played we really don’t know. But Luck has lead the Colts to the playoffs each season when he plays a full 16 games.

Finally however the Colts get some love the people over at NFL Network.

Finally people might start remembering why Luck is now the highest paid player in the game.

There is no reason as to why the Colts should not be competing for the AFC South crown this season with a full 16 games with Luck under center.

Just wait until the season opens against the Lions. Maybe then people will start remembering just how good the Colts can be.
