Clippers sign former BYU standout Davies

The Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday signed former BYU standout Briand Davies to a partially-guaranteed contract for training camp.

Davies, a forward, played four years at BYU where he averaged 12.4 points and 6.2 rebounds per game during his career. He went undrafted but played in the Clippers' Summer League team and impressed team officials, the Los Angeles Times reported.

"We really liked Brandon in Summer League," Clippers coach Doc Rivers said in a statement. "We like his ability to play multiple positions and he fits with our team. He understands team basketball and has been in here all summer working on his game."

Davies was named to the All-West Coast Conference first team in his junior and senior seasons.
