Clay Buchholz fans seven in win over Royals
Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz posted a quality start and struck out seven in a win over the Royals Thursday night in Kansas City, improving to 8-8 on the year. He allowed three runs -- two earned -- on six hits and three walks over 6 1/3 innings of work.
Over his last three starts covering 21 2/3 innings, Buchholz has allowed five earned runs. He owns a 5.19 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP over 25 starts (152 2/3 innings). He will make his next start Thursday at Pittsburgh.
