Chiefs sign 3 to practice squad

The Kansas City Chiefs signed running back Eric Kettani, wide receiver Jerrell Jackson and linebacker/defensive end Ridge Wilson to the their practice squad on Tuesday.

The moves were made after fullback Toben Opurum (Houston Texans) and tight end Jake Byrne (San Diego Chargers) signed with 53-man rosters. The Chiefs also announced that wide receiver Fred Williams was released from the practice squad.

Kettani (6-1, 233) originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the New England Patriots on May 4, 2009. He left the NFL for military service, during training camp in 2009, and returned to the Patriots on July 27, 2011. Kettani was on and off New England's practice squad roster for the 2011-12 seasons, before joining the Washington Redskins' practice squad roster on Sept. 11, 2012. He was released by the Redskins on Aug. 26.

Jackson (6-0, 192) originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans on May 14, 2012. He was released by the Texans, before the start of the 2012 season, and then signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars for a brief stint on their practice squad roster. On June 10, Jackson signed with the Chicago Bears, but was released during training camp.

Wilson (6-4, 256) originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Chiefs on May 1. He was released by the team on Aug. 31.
