Chiefs Beaten by Broncos, 29-16
The Chiefs were held in check by the Broncos, 29-16, at home.
Alex Smith accounted for two touchdown on 15 of 23 passing for 153 yards and one pick. For the Broncos, Peyton Manning wound up 17 for 34 with 179 yards passing, two touchdowns and one fumble.
Jamaal Charles gained 35 yards on 10 carries in addition to four receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown. Anthony Fasano snagged one ball for 20 yards while adding a touchdown.
The Kansas City defense struggled against the running game, but was able to slow down the pass, giving up 179 yards passing and 214 rushing. They brought down Manning for one sack.
Broncos running back C.J. Anderson could not be contained, putting up 168 yards rushing, 17 receiving and one touchdown. Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas was also solid with 63 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Chiefs head to Glendale next week to face off with the Cardinals (9-3) while the Broncos will play host to the Bills (7-5).
