Traveling to Cleveland the San Diego Chargers will be the next to face a winless Browns team on Saturday. In a season marred by injury and disappointment San Diego is in desperate need for a victory entering the season’s final week. The Browns have rarely been competitive in 2016 losing their last six games by more than double-digits.

Cleveland will start quarterback Robert Griffin III who returned earlier in December from an injury sustained during the season opener. Despite his return the Browns continue to search for their first victory. With two games remaining the Chargers need to keep the pressure on the elusive quarterback to win and possibly build some positive momentum.

KEY MATCH-UP: Robert Griffin III vs. SD Defense

Griffin’s arrival in Cleveland and ability to earn the starting quarterback position gave Browns’ fans a sense of hope. A team in search of consistency on offense was moving in the right direction but that would change all too soon.

Fracturing a bone in his non-throwing shoulder Griffin was placed on injured reserve following a season opening loss to the Eagles. The new era of the Browns was dealt a devastating blow and the team has yet to recover.

Saturday the Chargers will be the next to face Griffin and the defensive seven up front need to apply pressure early. By consistently getting after the quarterback the Chargers can limit Griffin’s effectiveness and keep him from getting the offense into a rhythm.

Defensive end Joey Bosa and linebacker Melvin Ingram will look to add onto their combined 14 and a half sacks for the Bolts. Despite the Chargers’ recent struggles San Diego’s resiliency and talent will be enough to not become the first victim of the Browns this season.
