Cavs sign Hudson to second 10-day contract

Lester Hudson has earned himself another opportunity with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The team announced Monday that it had signed the former Tennessee-Martin standout to a second 10-day contract, one day after the 27-year-old guard scored a career high 26 points in an overtime loss to the New Jersey Nets.

Hudson connected on nine of his 22 shots from the floor on Sunday, including six three-pointers, to top his previous career high of 23 points. That total came two days earlier in an 84-80 win over the Raptors in Toronto, when Hudson also handed out seven assists and recorded three steals in 32 minutes of action.

In six games with the Cavaliers, Hudson is averaging 12.7 points, 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Originally a second-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics, he's played for Boston, Memphis, Washington and the Cavs.

Cleveland (18-36, fifth in Central Division) returns to action on Tuesday night, hosting the Bobcats (7-47, fifth in Southeast Division). Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. ET at Quicken Loans Arena.
