Yahoo Daily Fantasy:

Bucs' Williams says he has hamstring tear

The SportsXchange

A problematic hamstring that forced Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Williams to miss the first game of his NFL career because of injury is now torn, The Tampa Tribune reported Friday.

Williams played Thursday night in the Buccaneers' 31-13 loss to the Carolina Panthers, catching three passes for 20 yards.

He did not indicate how long the hamstring tear might keep him out. And Bucs coach Greg Schiano offered little insight on Williams' status.

"He has a condition," Schiano said, according to the Tribune. "It's just a matter of can he play with it?"

The injury first surfaced in Week 4 against the Arizona Cardinals. After a bye week, Williams sat out a game for the first time in four seasons in the NFL when the Bucs played the Philadelphia Eagles.

He came back last Sunday for a game against the Atlanta Falcons and had four receptions for 32 yards.

Williams signed a six-year, $40.25 million contract ($9.4 million guaranteed) with the Buccaneers in July. His 22 catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns this season rank second on the team behind Vincent Jackson.
